NDIS
Your plan, explained without the jargon
A quick guide to how NDIS funding is structured, what each plan management type means, and how supports with us actually start.
Funding categories
What sits in an NDIS plan
Core supports
Everyday assistance — daily living, community participation, consumables and transport. The most flexible part of most plans.
Capacity building
Supports that build skills and independence, including improved daily living, improved relationships and increased social and community participation.
Capital supports
Assistive technology and home modifications. We don't supply these, but we'll work alongside the practitioners who do.
Plan management
Three ways your funding can be handled
How your plan is managed decides who pays invoices, which providers you can use and how much paperwork lands on you. You can use a different arrangement for different budgets.
Self-managed
You receive funds and pay providers directly. Maximum choice — you can use unregistered providers and negotiate rates — with the most record keeping.
With us: You keep invoices and claim through the myplace portal. We invoice you directly.
Plan-managed
A plan manager pays invoices on your behalf and tracks your budget. You still get the flexibility of any provider, without the admin.
With us: We invoice your plan manager and send you a copy of every claim.
NDIA-managed
The NDIA pays registered providers directly. The simplest option, limited to registered providers and agency price limits.
With us: We claim through the portal at or below NDIS price limits.
Getting started
From first call to first shift
Most people are matched with a worker and have supports running within two weeks. No waitlists for the majority of our services.
1. A no-pressure conversation
Tell us what you need, when you need it and what hasn't worked before. Twenty minutes, on the phone or in person.
2. Plan and budget check
We look at your plan together, confirm which line items cover the supports you want and flag anything that may need a review.
3. Worker matching
We shortlist workers by skills, language, gender preference, interests and availability, then arrange a meet-and-greet.
4. Service agreement
Plain-English agreement with rates, cancellation terms and notice periods laid out before you sign anything.
5. Supports begin
Your coordinator checks in after the first week, then monthly, and adjusts the roster as your goals shift.
Eligibility
Who the scheme is for
You may be eligible for NDIS funding if you meet all of the following. If you're unsure, we can talk it through before you apply.
- Aged under 65 when you first apply
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident or Protected Special Category Visa holder
- Living with a permanent and significant disability that affects everyday activities
- Or a child under 9 who may benefit from early childhood supports
Your rights
What you're entitled to expect
- Support that is safe, respectful and free from abuse or neglect
- Privacy, dignity and control over decisions about your own life
- Clear information about costs before services start
- The right to change or leave a provider at any time
- The right to complain, with support to do so, including directly to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
Paperwork made simple
The documents behind every set of supports
Good support runs on clear paperwork. Before your first shift we complete these documents with you (and your family, coordinator or advocate if you'd like), and we review them whenever your needs, plan or living situation changes.
Referral & support plan
Captures your goals, routines, health needs, communication preferences and the supports you want — the working document your team follows.
Service agreement
Sets out services, hours, rates, cancellation terms and how either side can change or end the arrangement. Nothing starts before you sign.
Home safety checklist
A walk-through of your home covering access, trip hazards, equipment, emergency exits and anything workers need to know before a first shift.
Living alone risk assessment
For participants living independently — identifies risks around medication, cooking, mobility or isolation, and the strategies to manage them.
Language and communication
Translation and interpreting support in 150+ languages
If English isn't your first language, that should never be a barrier to good support. We can arrange qualified interpreters through the Australian Government's Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) for meetings, assessments, service agreement sign-ups and plan reviews — at no cost to you.
We also match support workers by language and culture wherever possible, and can provide key documents in Easy Read or translated formats on request. Auslan interpreting and communication boards can be arranged for participants who use them.
- Free phone or on-site interpreters via TIS National
- Language- and culture-matched support workers where available
- Easy Read and translated versions of service agreements
- Auslan, AAC devices and communication boards supported
- Family or advocate welcome at every meeting
Rates and billing
Transparent pricing, always within the NDIS Price Guide
We charge at or below the maximum rates set out in the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. Rates vary by the type of support and when it's delivered — your exact rates are written into your service agreement before anything begins, so there are no surprises on your statement.
| Support period | When it applies |
|---|---|
| Weekday daytime | 6am to 8pm, Monday to Friday |
| Weekday evening | After 8pm and before midnight, Monday to Friday |
| Weekday night | Overnight active support between midnight and 6am |
| Saturday | All hours on a Saturday |
| Sunday | All hours on a Sunday |
| Sleepover | Overnight on-site support with an agreed inactive period |
Activity-based transport, sleepover shifts and public holiday rates are quoted separately and listed in your agreement. We don't charge cancellation fees outside the NDIS short-notice rules, and we never bill for a shift that didn't happen.
Common questions
Straight answers, no sales pitch
Do I need a plan before I contact you?
No. We're happy to talk before your planning meeting and help you think through the goals and supports worth raising with the NDIA.
What if my plan is NDIA-managed?
That's fine — we're set up to work within registered provider requirements and we charge within the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
Can I change support workers?
Yes, at any time and without an awkward conversation. Matching is a process, not a one-off decision.
How much notice do I need to cancel?
Cancellation terms follow the NDIS short-notice cancellation rules and are set out plainly in your service agreement before you sign.
What happens at a plan review?
We provide written progress summaries against your goals so you have evidence to take to the NDIA, and we can attend with you if you'd like.
How do I make a complaint?
Talk to your coordinator or email us directly — and you always have the right to contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission independently.
Ready to build supports around the life you want?
Talk with our team about your NDIS plan, your goals and how we can help. No waitlists for most services.
